Norse art, drawn honestly

Motifs,
not myths

Real ornamental styles from surviving objects — Urnes, Ringerike, Borre, Jelling, Mammen. Every piece names the style, the century and the object it was drawn from.

Our line

Ornament that survived

We print styles that exist on real objects — carved portals, inlaid axes, silver cups. We do not sell symbols that hate groups have taken, and we say so on the page rather than quietly leaving them out.

What we won't print

The journal

Made to be explained

The hardest part of wearing this is being asked what it means. Every print has a page behind it: the style, the century, the object it was drawn from, and the mistakes people usually make about it.

No symbols we can't stand behind

We publish what we won't print, and why.

Where we stand

Norse history belongs to everyone who wants to learn it

Norse material culture is a shared human inheritance, not the property of any one group. We cast broadly, we name our sources, and we publish the list of symbols we will not print along with the reason for each one. If a motif has been taken up as a hate symbol, we leave it out and say so — quietly dropping it would only leave the question hanging.
